If you’re doing it right, that is.
When you are in search of a new dress or outfit, there are usually steps you take to find the perfect one.
You’ve probably refined your technique over the years and know just what shops to check, and what styles look best on you.
While you’re searching for your soulmate, there are steps you take when dating to help you find the perfect one, too. It’s not like someone teaches you how to find your soulmate, right?
But if you want to know how to find your soulmate, you can model your efforts after the way you shop for the perfect outfit.
Try this:
1. You shop around.
When you’re looking for the perfect dress, you shop around. Try on a few different dresses. Look for great deals.
When you’re dating for your soulmate, you should date around and meet different people.
Don’t be all-in right out of the gates. Explore your options. Or at least, keep your options open in the beginning stages of dating someone new.
2. You ask yourself the important questions.
When you’re shopping for the perfect dress, you probably ask yourself these questions:
Will I be able to easily accessorize this dress?
Do I have the right shoes?
Can it be a dress up/dress down dress?
When you’re dating for your soulmate, you can ask yourself these questions:
Will the guy fit into my world? Will my parents like him? Will he fit in with my friends?
Will I feel proud to bring him around them, or embarrassed?
Your soulmate should easily fit into your life, and you into his.
You should be best friends with each other, even before you become lovers.
3. You make sure it’ll last.
When you’re shopping for a dress, you make sure the make of the dress is high quality. Personally, I don’t care about the label per se, but I do like to make sure that it’s going to last a very long time!
Do the same when you’re dating for your soulmate! Make sure that the guy is high-quality, too.
If he tells you he’s not ready for anything serious — or seems unavailable — he’s not the quality man you deserve.
And, no matter how fantastic you are, you’re probably not going to change him.
You deserve a man whose priority is to be in a long-lasting relationship.
Make sure that he’s confident, a good provider, and emotionally secure (and that you are, too).
4. You always make sure it’s a perfect fit.
When shopping and find a great dress, try it on! It has to flatter you.
It has to create a positive response in you when you look in the mirror. If it doesn’t, don’t buy it.
When dating for your soulmate, you have to ask: Does this man flatter you? Does he contribute to you? Do you feel like you can be 100% yourself with him?
If you feel like you can’t express yourself authentically, or that you are too nervous around him, he’s probably not your soulmate.
Being with your soulmate should feel like you’ve know each other your entire lives. It should feel easy and fun.
He should be able to accept you completely, warts and all. And vice versa.
5. You never rush into anything.
When you’re shopping for a dress and it’s out of your price range, sleep on it.
Put it on hold for at least a day and then with a fresh perspective, decide if it’s really worth it.
When you’re dating for your soulmate, it’s the same with a guy. Explore getting to know him vs. deciding he’s the one. Most women are so quick to see themselves walking down the aisle after the first date.
If he’s truly your soulmate, then there’s no need to rush.
Take your time to get to know him and build a friendship. Building that foundation will guarantee a long-lasting relationship.
